I used Zaustworx (in Burnley, I'm in Co. Down) they have a lot of pre designed stuff that they can make and send out, if you have no joy locally. They might be a good shout. I bought a set of twin exits to replace the last third of my S4's system, wasn't dirt cheap but there were more expensive supiers out there too and their welds were spot on.
Similar for my old WRX (bugeye), 3" turbo back with 4 1/2" you could hear everything going on up in the engine bay from the rear of the car and sounded fantastic if a little antisocial when getting out of the drive heading for early flights.

I think resonator delete on many cars is a good way to go. I got a double res delete on my m140i as I wanted a bit more noise without going into loud droney chav territory and it's ended up pretty much exactly how I wanted. Bonus is that it cost £200 compared to a grand for a cat back exhaust systemAfter driving the car for a few more weeks I felt I didn't want to get anything too noisy, it's quite a peach to drive at higher speeds and wasn't up for paying the ££££ for a custom solution. So after speaking to a local custom fab guy, he reassured me that a res "delete" (sigh) should be fine on my Ovlov and a relatively simple job.
I took a gamble, given his experience and work on a few Volvos, and he was correct.
Y pipe fab and fit whilst I waited and it's still quiet inside, no drone but a subtle noise outside. Just what I wanted.
