hopefully i will be replacing the gt610 with a gtx460. Can i use a single molex to 6 pin connector to power one of these cards or will i have to use 2 molex to a 6 pin?

What power supply do you have if it doesn't have a PCI-E 6pin?

You may find it cannot power the system with the GTX460.

Check on the label for the +12V max current (Amps)

If the supply can cope you need to use two molex connectors from two different cables to spread the load. A normal PCI-E cable would have 3 +12V wires. Using two molex you will have 2 +12V wires. With a single cable, it's just one.

the psu is a generic 500w pile of junk but i think it should be able to power the gtx 460 as its 160w card so at 12v that would need 13.3Amps? I'v looked but its a bit confusing so i'm uploading a picture

Yep, 13.3 A for the card, add in another 12 - 15A for an overclocked AMD.

You'll need another PSU.

A good brand 400W would be fine, you'll be looking @ £40 min unless you go second hand from someone who upgraded.

I was going to buy a new psu but not this soon. I'll find a good used one. Thanks for telling me or i would have been peed off when i found out. The friend that i'm buying it off isn't very bright and said it needed 1 6 pin, i should have checked really.
