Powering a mini-itx board with an old Shuttle 250w psu?

I need a quick bit of advice.

I've got to troubleshoot a problem with a rig I'm putting together as it's not working.

The chassis manufacturer has suggested I plug a 'normal' psu into my motherboard and see if it powers it up first of all. Makes sense really. I'm slightly concerned tho at using a fairly high wattage psu (an old Shuttle 250w) on a mini-itx board.. it should be fine tho shouldn't it?

The actual setup of the rig will be powered by a pico 120w psu.

Advice greatly appreciated.
