Powering a Raspberry PI LCD Screen via power bank

Very simple question.

I got an Anker Power Bank 26,800 and I need a bit more power to be able to use a LCD screen on the Raspberry PI (it uses 3.3a and it the power bank has 3a max per port)

if I use a dual USB cable to micro USB, using the both slots from the power bank to the PI, would that mean I am able to get past the 3.3a? So in total the power would be 6a.
 
You should be able to find the max output on the back. If it's got a 3amp and a 1amp output, but the max states 3 then you won't be able to power from both ports.
 
If you have any basic electronics skills you can build a li-ion powerbank with whatever output specs pretty easily - charging boards based around a tp4056 chip and/or something a little bit more advanced for multiple cells and a buck or boost regulator output board can be bought cheap mostly ready to go with a little soldering to connect leads and plenty of guides out there.

Though the more readily available cheap USB sockets may not be rated to carry more than 1-2amp at 5V.

The power bank,

Input: 5V ⎓ 4A (5V ⎓ 2A Max Per Port)

Output: 5V ⎓ 6A (5V ⎓ 3A Max Per Port)

It's got 3 USB slots

So I presume it will work.

It's a Model 3B+ I have.

  • High Speed USB 2.0 data transfer rates up to 480Mbps < - is that enough or not?
The screen needs 3.3a to power it up.

I don't know if you went for it in the end... But when I found that my Roku box wasn't getting all of the power it needed I bought a 1 female to 2 male usb splitter and that did the trick. Cost about £4 from forest.
