We're running tight on sockets behind the TV and in the hall and we have several USB devices like NowTV, firestick, hive etc. that all come with a power adapter.

I've installed sockets with USB points on them and was wondering if anyone else powers these sort of devices from them?

All I've turned up from the internet is regarding firesticks running off the TV usb port which isn't advised.

Any advice appreciated.

It would depend on what the sockets are capable of outputting.

I had Firesticks and similar devices running from the USB ports on my old Panasonic Plasma. The only thing they refused to do was update themselves.

I ended up with too many devices and used multiport charger similar to the one linked below stuck to the back of the TV.

Looks like a good alternative thanks.

I run a chromecast off a USB plug socket on the wall behind my TV. The chromecast would run powered off the TV's 500maA usb socket, but I have added a ethernet adapter to the chromecast which does need a little more power so I have to use the wall socket instead. It works fine. The wall socket is a BG one with a 3amp max output.

Should be fine. Most of the decent ones will output at least 3.1amps, with the higher end ones outputting 4.2amps. I think the firestick has a 1amp plug although is probably only using half of that.
