About a month ago i got new parts and built a semi new PC.

I kept:
450W PSU from a meshcomputer
6800GT - running Samsung 913N + Hyundai A321
6200LE - running Samsung 913N

I bought:
P4 805D (now ran at 3.8ghz)
1gb geil
Gigabyte DS4

For around a month its ran fine on everything, no problems atall.
But a few days ago i was sat here and the pc just powered down, then back up for 2seconds, then back off, then turned on and booted fine.
I didnt think much of it, but today it did the same, was just sat here browsing the web on MSN, few prorgams open but nothing intense and it just powered down then back on?
I checked temps of the board and CPU and they arent higher than normal.

However SpeedFan tells me :
CPU - 54c
DS4 - 56c
HDD0 - 44c
HDD1 - 46c
HDD2 - 70c(?)

I noticed that from the first day i installed all of this that the HDD2 was a fair bit hotter than the rest, could it be this overheating thats causing the reboot, or could it be the PSU not having enough juice?

Thanks for any help :)

firstly your psu is probably generic and very poorly powered for your new system,
secondly if your HDD really is at 70 degrees the that will more than likely be causing issues, heat really does kill HDDs, is there a fan blowing onto the hdd in question?

the case only has 3 HDD bays , i tried moving the one that is overheating around but it still stays a lot hotter than the other two, I'll try moving a fav so its atleast near the HDD though

edit:

HDD temps are 42c, 47c and 68c. Surely even the ones in 40's are hot? Thought they should be running in high 30s

Right! I'm say on my floor next to my pc typing this on my blackberry, so urgent answers please :p
Turned pc off, took overheating drive out, turned it on and everything was fine.
Turned pc off then went pit to a gig, just came back after 9hrs wanting to edit the video I just recorded!

Blackberry said I couldn't type anymore above, weird and sorry if this turns into multiple posts!
Captured 40mins of video fine, saved it in adobe premiere all fine. Then my pc just turned itself off and won't back on. It powers on but doesn't turn on. Tried disconnecting case fans, DVD drives and hard drives, still won't boot! Will it be the psu dying or more likely to be cpu/gfx cards/mobo? THX!
