Hi guys can someone tell me how you power up a HD4870 please.

I see you get 1 x 6 pin y-cable that you plug in 2 x 12 v power leads from your power unit but the card has another 6 pin slot on it that I have no power lead for, do i need another y-cable to plug in another 2x12v leads?

Thanks

Ferret

It does but the cable that came with the graphics card is a Y-cable with room to plug in 2 standard 12 volt molex cables to convert to 1 PCI-E cable (hope that makes sense.)

So do I need to plug in 2 x molex into 1 pci-e and plug this into the card AND also plug in my existing PCI-E cable?

I dont want to blow anything up!!

Yes, you plug your existing 6x Pin PCI-E connector you already have into it, then you use the 6x Pin PCI-E adapter that came with the card to get the other one, by connecting it to 2x of your 4x Pin molex's on your PSU.
