powering up mobo

Hi their im building my pc and wanted to know if i could try the power supply and fans etc with the mobo,but without the ram cpu or graphics card.

Just because a PSU "powers up" doesn't mean its any good tbh as it wont have any load on it

true,i just didnt want to have it arrive then wait a month or so until ive finished my rig then it not start up due to damage in transit
