Are there any issues putting a network switch on the end of a powerline adapter? I'm hoping to run cable some time this year but as a cheaper alternative to replacing adpaters for more connections does this work ok?

If so can someone recommend me a decent network switch as I have never needed one before :) 5 ports should be enough, xbox, pc, apple tv for now.

Nope, I used to use one to connect my TV, Sky box and consoles. I used a TP-LINK TL-SF1005D, really cheap and worked fine.

It will work fine but go for at least a 8 port switch as you never know what else might need connecting in the future and will save you having to buy another switch.

Any 5 port gigabit switch will do. The powerline will be limiting your connection though.

I get the full 78mb through my homeplugs so I'm not that worried about them topping out right now. I was going to add more plugs in the same room as via wifi I only get 18mb ish but if a switch works then i will do that as a cheaper option until I run cable this summer. I might even pay to get the master socket moved to my study and be done with it :)
