Afternoon folks,

Trying to setup powerline adapters in my new home. It has a newer extension on the back.

BT line into the house is situated in the older part of the house and has a mk5 master socket so the router has to be plugged in there to work. Computer etc. are through the back in the new part of the house.

I'm on BT fiber 52mb/s. When i plug adapters in the newer part of the house i get roughly 5mb/s. When plugged into the older part of the house i get 52mb/s.

Seems to be some kind of circuit interference but from what i've tested it's not any of the electrical appliances.

Any idea what else i should look for that could be causing the lower signal speed?

Cheers

The extension is probably on a different ring circuit, in which case you can't fix the problem. You will have to rely on wifi or your best solution lay some network cable before you decorate.
