Powerline Adapter issue

I decided to try out a powerline adapter today, I went for the TP Link TL-WPA4220kit. Unfortunately I am having real trouble trying to get it to create the powerline :/

I've done everything that it says to the T and I'm getting nowhere.

When I first plug the main block in, I get the powerline LED for maybe 10/15 seconds then it goes off, I think this is more it initialising it's self than anything else. When I plug the other one in, the same happens. They won't pair or anything, even if they are in the same double wall socket!!!

Can anyone helps as to why this isn't happening for me?

They should be paired out of the box (although you may need to setup encryption).

Do you have an active Ethernet cabled device plugged into both of then? If not they'll probably just go into power save mode.

The main one is connected to the router with the ethernet light showing, same with when I connect the other unit to my computer.
I'm going to take them back tomorrow as I think one or both is faulty.
It says on the box they should connect up straight out of the box and it's just not happening! I'll let you know how I get on.

connect the first one - the main one to the router, press the "pair" key

while it's flashing looking for a pair, connect the 2nd one to computer and power socket and press "pair" key on that.. - needs to be done in less than 2 mins since clicking the first one tho

wait...

done?!

Hey grudas, I've been doing that already and they won't connect to each other at at all, even if I put them into 2 plug sockets side by side. They just aren't talking to each other.

Thanks for the input though man, just going to take them back to the shop though!
