Powerline adapter - noob questions

I hope this makes sense!

I'm looking at these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-032-TP&tool=3 to extend my network from my PC to my TV. I currently have a Virgin Superhub which I'm just using as a modem to an MSI wireless router. I have 3 other rooms connected via ethernet cables from the router. I also have a Wireless Access point set up in one of these rooms. I get reasonable wifi all across the house but not good enough for reliable video streaming from a laptop connected to the TV via HDMI. I want to stream Australian NRL through the TV.

Can I connect one of the Adapters to the router? I can sacrifice the wired connection to one of the rooms

Can I plug the adapter into a 4 plug adapter or does it need to go into a wall socket? (I can do both)

The adapters should be plugged directly into the wall. They will work when connected to normal extension leads, but will usually be slower.

One of the adapters will need connecting to the router. This could be a direct connection, or via any of the existing cables you have in place.
 
Thank you - does that mean that I could use a wall socket in one of the rooms that I have a network cable running to?
 
One cable will have to run from an adaptor to your router and the others wil have to run a cable from the back of the computer to the adapter in a wall socket or extension lead but as already said it wil be slower in one of these. Powerline adapters are ok but it's better to run Ethernet from the router to a hub/ switch and then plug into that from the pc as you will have a better connection. This comes from personal experience of using power line adapters they are ok but there are better ways to connect everything.
 
Thanks for the replies. I have absolutely no chance of running a cable into our lounge. I'm going to give the Powerline adapters a go
