Trying these for the first time ever.

I bought a cheap wifi dongle and its been flaky as hell, even have to unplug then replug it in windows 7.

Got a couple of Zyxel 500MBit plugs coming is there anything I should know to get best performance?

I am using the Virgin Media Hub router which i believe is abit ****.

Ideally plug them into their own socket, next best thing, one of those cube things, they're a million times better than 4-way extensions.

If speeds still disapoint go round every plug socket in the house one by one take the front off and tighten the screws holding the cables in can also be worth tightening up where the cables from each ring go into the fuse box. (turn the mains off first)

Does that make a real difference?
