Powerline adapters that won't pair with bt ones?

I've been using on network powerline 500 adapters for over three years now without issue but the new neighbors have just got bt broadband and obviously got given similar adapters. Ever since then I haven't been able to connect to my internet, it either drops or won't connect at all, it's connected to their internet a few times so obviously the adapters are very similar.

Does anyone know of some cheap adapters that won't try and connect to the bt ones and are not affected by them?

It's to get internet at the end of the garden so wifi isn't an option (I've tried).

Almost all of the adapters will talk to each other. They all use the same default encryption keys.

Follow the instructions to set your own encryption keys. It should just be a matter of pressing the little buttons on the adapters in the correct order. The instructions will be in the quick start guide.

Tell your neighbour to do the same.

I've already tried that it made no difference, even when they pair up it still drops and trys to connect to the neighbours.

You must be doing something wrong. Is there a software utility available?

If you buy a different set they'll be using exactly the same default keys and you'll be in the same situation.

I'm not doing anything wrong, there's no software they're just very basic as they're old and were cheap even back then.

This is why I am looking for new ones that have more options and won't try and connect to the bt ones.

All Powerline adapters use the same default keys.

If you can still connect to the neighbours after you've done whatever you're doing they must still be using the default keys. Therefore they're either broken or you're doing something wrong (possibly following the instructions to reset them to factory defaults?).

You won't be able to buy a set of adapters that won't automatically connect to the neighbours out of the box as they'll also be using the same keys.

You either need to set your own keys on the existing set (what are they btw - exact model?) or buy a new set and set your own keys on those.

Alternatively if you know where the other adapters are ask them to change their keys. Your adapters will then not be able to connect to them.

On networks powerline 200 home network adapter pl2005v2. They look different than they do in the pdf manual, they have a single reset and security button on the bottom and that's it. They won't work at all until the security button is pressed on each one but it doesn't last no matter how many times I reset them / press the security button.

Just to follow up on this I bought a Devolo dLAN 500 Duo starter kit and the software allows you to delete neighbours / unwanted adapters from your network. So this fixed my issue completely and it's been rock solid ever since.

Yep. Use cockpit to add / remove adapters and then set a unique password for those chosen.
