Hello,

Im thinking of getting a TP-Link 200mbps pa211 powerline adapter kit to use on my network but may struggle to connect directly to a wall socket without an extension lead.

Just wondering if anyone has tested with extension leads and how well they work with a non-surgeprotected extension lead or with a surge protected extension lead.

What about socket multi adapters? Where the router is, there are only 2 sockets for itself and the cordless phone. So would need an extra one for the first home plug to go into.

Manual says done use extension box's / multi plug, but I have installed several for various people using them and not had an issue

The are sooooo many variables you gotta try them to see how well it's gonna work

You're likely to get a worse signal with a longer line and more plug connections but a signal > no signal.

So unless the extensions include circuits which interfere with the signal I don't see why not.

I have tried with a 20m extension cord, signal was notably worse so I used the cable for powering the PC and a socket in the wall for the adapter.
