Given the abysmal (10mbps) i'm getting on wifi, I'm looking to get a pair of powerline plugs, but all of the one's i have seen, have the cable coming out of the bottom, given the way the sockets are in the skirting board, the bottom of the plug would be touching the carpet before i even think about plugging a cable in...

Can anyone recommend one where the cable comes out at a different angle?

Thanks

I can't find any either. Not ideal but what about using a multi-plug adapter and plugging it in to that?

There are mixed reports however whether powerline adapters will work like this.

I live in a relately old appartment block and while Powerline's worked ok (but not great) while plugged directly into the socket, I couldnt get them to work at all when plugged into an adaptor / extension.

(it may well be on a case by case basis, but imo it wouldnt be worth the risk of buying them just incase they didnt work)

I used Powerlines for 3 years in an extension plug in a flat and it worked fine. Both the router-side and computer-side plugs were in extensions.

I used powerline for years, it was excellent and reliable.

I moved to Asus AC wireless recently and I junked my powerline adapters as I get 300mbits actual without line of sight.

Wouldn't the smaller type ones fit ok? TP Link, Tenda and Zyxel do smaller footprint ones.
