I've got a single port powerline ethernet adapter which connects the router in my bedroom to the tv downstairs. It's worked great over the years but now I've got a BD player, Xbox and SkyHD box down there too that I'd like to connect to the network via ethernet. Any ideas on how I'd go about this please?

Connect a switch to the single port on the powerline adapter then your devices to the switch. Job done :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x TP-Link 5 Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (TL-SG1005D) £19.99
Total : £22.97 (includes shipping : £2.48).

for gigabit.

Depends on how fast your network is and your needs. Im guessing your power line adapters couldn't use much more than 100mbps and that with an Xbox and blu ray player you wont really be moving large files around, you will most likely be streaming them and for streaming 100 mb is fine.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It will pretty much all be streaming with the current Powerline only doing 85MB. Have found a 1-4 200MB Powerline box for £50 online so am mulling it over. Cheers.

This.

Dont bother with the powerline box - waste of time and expensive.

I currently have a Panasonic TV, PS3, Xbox 360 and HTPC connected into a £8 switch i bought years ago. The switch is connected to the powerline. Quick, cheap, easy and does the job you need.
