Powerline/Homeplug Adapter Question

Hi,

I've finally had my Infinity connected today and i'm currently trying to find the right solution to connect everything up.

My master phone socket was in my front room so the engineers fitted the kit there. The only issue is that my PC is upstairs so since I have a preference to use a wired connection i'm currently using a borrowed set of Comtrend powerline adapters (i believe they are rated at 200mbps).

i'm not amazed at the speeds i'm getting right now, but its early doors.

I'm trying to decide whether to try and find an ethernet wiring solution or get my hands on some TP-Link AV500+ adapters.

is there a way i can measure the effectiveness of the current adapters i'm using?

would i notice a difference if i went for the above TP-links?

As you have only just had the kit installed today,i would leave it a week and see what speeds you get,i have 100mb and get roughly 60 upstairs with homeplugs and both ends are on extension leads.

Thanks for the reply, i wasn't sure if the 7-10 day stabilisation period was BT just covering themselves.

What sort of adapters are you using?

i have a long ethernet cable arriving today so was planning on comparing the adapters to wired before i make my decision

Ive just got some cheap ones from ocuk, had them 18 months now and never let me down,i could get some better ones but i dont see the point to be honest, internet is internet to me and everything works well :)
