Question I had infinity 2 (80mb) and my powerlines worked to the 80mb, recently updated to infinity 3 (200mb) now my powerlines are working at only 40mb. I've directly connected via long network cable and its shows all 200mb via speedtest. Is if worth changing the powerlines to 600mb versions.

I have zyxel 500mb gigabit 4 port version and tp-link 500mb non-gigabit.
 
There are no powerline adaptors that are currently available that will sustain 200mb transfers in 'real world' situations.

AC wireless might under good conditions, but other than that, you will need a hard wired solution
 
Yeah thinking the AC card might be easier to justify rather than drilling thorough walls for the network cable.

fwiw my 600Mbps Zyxel ones pull ~190Mbit/s when testing with iperf. So nearly there :)

It does show that they were working very well, but that's not going to translate to a real single stream throughput anyway near as high.

With 200AV adapters the absolute limit will be 100Mbps due to the ports. The figures also don't take into account any of the overheads that will significantly reduce the real-world throughput.
 
Mine connect at 240 to 300mb but only pull 40mbs via speedtest. Might try a clean windows later on today. But get full 220mb via proper Ethernet connection.

Yeah. Eventually I stopped monitoring it using its software because even in the rare circumstance that the software reported a connection as low as 140Mb/s, it had no impact on my LAN transfers of 100Mb/s

My view of the kit being spec'd at 200Mb/s is to improve the chances that they would sync at a speed that would not blemish a 100Mb/s network. If they were made to sync at 100Mb/s I would never have bought them for 100Base-T.
