Hey folks, my Dad is paranoid about the radio waves Wireless Routers use (lol), so when he was setting up the network at his house he bought powerline adapters instead...
As I understand it he has used them happily for years now, but two of the four units he has bought have stopped working, and when he tried to buy replacements, he found that the particular model he has is discontinued. For the record they are 85mbps Ethernet Powerline Adapters made by Advent Computers, product number ADE 85MKIT.
He asked for my help to track down a seller for the adapters online, but unsurprisingly as they are pretty old, I haven't been able to find used ones for (re)sale anywhere.
So my question is this, is it even necessary for all the access points on a powerline network to use exactly the same Adapters? Can I get him some other manufacturer's 85mbps adapters to use in conjunction with his existing ones?
Thanks in advance for any help
