I'm looking at getting some of these now that wifi is so overcrowded.

The main question is, are the 500Mb ones worth the extra? If I was guaranteed to get 350-400Mb I'd probably pay the extra.

Also, do they work from a downstairs ring to an upstairs one? Sorry if these are stupid questions but it's new tech to me.

Thanks. :)

200Mb are 100Mb and 500Mb are 250Mb in perfect lab conditions. The speed is listed as both directions at the same time (full duplex mode)

So in reality a 200Mb plug will give approx 50Mb speeds and a 500Mb plug will give 120Mb.

They should work across rings. however your mileage may vary depending on your fuse box/rcd etc. The same goes for the speeds obtainable.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's worth getting the 500Mb ones then as I want it for file transfers to/from the network drive.

Anyone got any experience with the T-link 500Mb ones?
