Powerline networking - any good?

Fellas i'm looking at buying some powerline stuff to extend the network in my house - it's an old house so has very solid walls. I'm thinking of getting these

Yeah kinda, I have my gaming pc wired to router but for other stuff it's nice have wireless.

I've installed one of those adapters and it worked okay.

Given the choice I'd use a standard set of Powerline adapters with a separate wireless access point (or a router configured as one).

I have some Belkin Powerline adapters, work really well. Much better than Wifi.

If you have a router lying about, you could buy the cheaper and faster (500mbs) PLA and use the router as a Wireless AP, could work out better.

Powerline beats Wi-fi by a big margin, especially for gaming online.

I have several round the house. The Devolo 500av ones. Work well and more reliable for gaming than wireless.

I have the TP 500Mb ones, awesome kit. Can max out my 120Mb broadband and much lower pings in games compared to wireless.
