Hi i'm not very good with the whole networking thing and so i'm seeking advice before i make this purchase when back in stock.

Thing is i live in a shared house so as you can imagine, gaming on a shared router is impossible at peak hours. I currently pay virgin media for fibre optic at my ex girl friends house, so i will be having it installed at new adress, but she threw out my router when i had the connection DC'd.

I was wondering if using the above would work if it was plugged straight into the virgin mobile box? or do i still need a router as well :S

Sorry i know thats lame question but as i say i'm poor with networking.

Also can any1 suggest whether this option would be useful for gaming purposes?. My whole thinking on the matter is it would stop my house mates resetting a router to default password and accessing my connection as i would have the recieving end in my bedroom.

Also i live in a large 7 room house, would the fact that so many people live there using electrical appliances, would that slow the speeds the connection would give? If so would it be more advisable me getting a router? ( which i'm hoping is not the case )

Many thanks for any replies.

This forum served me well before when they suggested Razer deathadder mouse which i found awesome, so i thought i'd try again :)

Yes but this is what my ex-GF threw out. Virgin want to charge me 75 pound for a replacement on top of 50 pound installation fee for something that will be installed in a communal lounge.

My housemates only hook up wirelessly so having the TP-link sounded like a good option for me as i would have the recieving end in my room. I have a V'media modem from previous services before i got the superhub so i could use that. Ty for letting me know that it would work.

Do you have any idea how well these powerlines keep their signal? Thing is i'm crazy on crysis and especially with C3 on the way i want to maintain a sub 100 ping

ty again for response

Hey ty for the sound advice i didn't think about putting the router at my bedroom end.

As for the terminal in communal area.....

Well my room is on the 2nd floor. As in ground floor, 1st floor, then mine.

So there would be no chance of installation up there.

You've cleared a few things up for me though thank you very much bremen
