Hi all :D

I'm in a predicament about either drilling through a few walls to give my PC a cable connection from my BT Infinity Router, or go via the Powerline Network route.

I'm able to receive 40MBs Download speed, and about 8-9MBs Upload speed.

would prefer a cable, but don't really want to have to drill thru 2 walls.

Which would be the best Powerline Adapter to receive the best download/upload speeds?

Thanks

Have you considered wireless? I used powerlines before and depending on your houses wiring they can be a bit of a pain sometimes, i only say wireless because when i was on a 120Mbs connection i would only get 50-60 through a powerline, I changed to wireless with a Netgear N600 wireless adapter for £50 and i now get the full connection

I'm using wireless at the moment via a wireless usb dongle (just to get me along ATM) which is a "TP Link TL-WN823N 300Mbps Mini Wireless N USB Adapter"

Does the job at the moment, but there will come a time when i want to be able to use all my 40MB/s where as this dongle just doesn't cut the mustard.

The better long-term solution is a fixed line, as long as your PC & router are in their "final resting place", i.e. you don't plan on moving them anytime soon!

Im having the same issue with wireless and not getting the most out of fibre.

decided to just do some work and Wire it in myself, will be much better in the long run since no doubt ill end up with a much higher fibre speed at some point.

I'd recommend wires over Powerline adapters and wireless wherever possible. My network at home uses a mixture of all three and the wired parts are much faster and much more reliable.

*elephant in the room*..
you can get 40Mbps (megabits) which will allow you to dowload around 4-5MBps (megabytes).

... I'll get my coat.
