Probably very easy for someone to answer this.

Will a powerline network connect if the two adapters are plugged into seperate ring mains?

Reason being is that trying to get connection to all stuff downstairs from router/modedm upstairs and was looking at this as an option instead of running cables. Have tried wireless, but this is rather flakey, so need a more robust connection method.

Cheers

Yes it will with household wiring as the ring mains are normally connected at the consumer unit. May be an issue if there was say 2 different meters or if your wiring is appaling (in which case get if checked).

I had the same issue 85mbps max connection speed was reduced to 62 ish. But worked fine and stopped my wifi unrelaibility.
