Ive got Virgin Broadband and i have just upgraded to 100mb and my old BT Comtrend Powerlines the black ones dont seem to have increased speed wise. The pc upstairs connected to the powerline is still showing around 45mb. Does anyone know if there is a limit on these? This is a speed test on Speednet im getting 38mb over wifi in same room

Im thinking of buying these TP-Link AV600 Gigabit Powerline Adapter Starter Kit cause i have read a few reports these are quite good

Would the AV600s increase my speed or should i think about wired with a switch upstairs i dont really want to do that as im in rented

Any suggestions Please

Thxs

You do appear top be hitting the limits of you existing adapters.

The only way to know whether the AV600 adapters will do any better is to try them. As you're getting 45Mbit with the Comtrend adapters I think you'd see a decent speed increase.

If you want a guaranteed 100Mbit then a cable is the best option.

Thanks for the reply yes im getting 45mb in one bedroom but did a test in the other and im only getting 13mb

I might get the AV600 3-Port ones and run a cable from the 45mb socket through a wall into our other room

It depends on quality of house electrics. I have some TP-Link 200's and they return a remarkable 157 Mbps!

I think those TP-Link 600's will improve your speed, but how much depends on your wiring quality.

I'm running AV600 in a pair. In my house all electrics are 3 month old (complete renovation) and between router and PC I'm hitting 337mbps according to software. Both router and PC are gigabit enabled.
