powerline - quick question

let say if i got 2 PC's and a ADSL router, all are in different room, do i need 3 plugs or 4 plugs?

wireless in my house are rubbish, its big victoria house with very thick walls. i'm currently connected wirelessly at speed of 11MBPS

thought i needed 8 plugs 4 for routers, 4 for 4 machines lol
