I've currently got 100mbps BB with Virgin which is working fine if I connect the router directly to the pc with a cable, I get around 95mb/s download on a good day early in the morning 'frinstance.
But, I normally use a powerline setup which has started to get a fair bit "flaky", dropping in and out, very low speeds, etc, so it looks like I'm gonna have replace my Netgear 85Mbps jobbies. So, my question is, what would be a good replacement? I know I ain't gonna get any where near the speeds with a powerline setup that I would get with a cable, but I cant have a 50' running the length of the house, I keep tripping up on it.
Budget is anything between £60-£80, maybe a bit more if the speed increase is worth it.
Cheers.

Here's the problem, it could just be that your powerline adapter is on it's way out, the ones i've had die tend to just die though. If it's a cable/noise issue on the circuit then that's not going to go away if you buy new adapters. Personally i'd look to an external cable run or run it under carpets/floorboards (cat5e is available in flat cable that works great for this) or a Ubiquiti Unifi AP as the commercial grade wifi stuff is in a different league to the consumer stuff and it's reasonably priced.

With a recommendation from me, TP-Link have been great. If you take the 500Mbp/s you'll get pretty much full speed and also ability to stream over network

These have a powerplug also, so you don't lose a socket :-)

Check the spec - some of the cheaper powerline 500 products only come with 10/100 LAN, clearly that's going to limit the speeds to 200mbit (they always quote symmetrical speeds) which is obviously not cool.

*edit* Oh look- Interface 2* 10/100Mbps Ethernet Ports, Power Socket

Good luck getting 200mbit down over a 100mbit each way product :(

Somewhat in the same boat. I have a 4/5 year old Belkin at present.

I have been looking at the Devolo powerlines with the Wifi integrated in them. I believe they clone your wifi network as well to provide wifi in hard to reach places.
Possibly over your budget, but could you increase it to also get them wifi part?
The One I have been looking at is the 1200+ whcih is gigabit, and ac wifi.
