Hi all, looking for some advise, recently rented an annex to a landlords house, they provide wifi with the let but the issue is it isn't covering half the building, and where it is covering it it's getting a slower than normal speed.

I'm wondering, as the annex has a coin operated meter between my electric and their electric, would a powerline manage to pass through the coin electric meter to get to my sockets?

If not, any other good ideas for me?

I don't think it will even work from the sound of things.

Is it not possible to have your own broadband package? If not, will your landlord be willing to run a cable?

cannot see why not. The meter doesn't break the cable, merely has a coil around the live conductor to run the meter (Current Transformer).

can you borrow some powerlines to try it?
