I need to upgrade my powerline adapters and I have seen some with three ports on both adapters - what is the benefit of this?

I suppose it will allow it to act like a gigabit switch on the 2nd adaptor (which is plugged into the computer/tv), but what is the benefit of having three ports on the 1st adaptor (which is plugged into my router)

Thanks

None really, other than it saves you buying a switch and the extra cables/mess, if you only need 2-3 devices wired to the home plug with enough ports.

be aware that it wont perform as well as a dedicated switch.

for example i used to have:
PC->Gig Switch->Gig Powerline Link->VM 150Mbps
now i have:
PC->Gig Powerline Link->VM 150Mbps

And I've lost 20Mbps download. Don't ask me why..
