Powerlines cutting off.

I've recently been having problems with my powerline set up, I did have two identical 85mb generic plugs from the rainforest place, then one of them stopped working and i had to buy a new one. It was from the same page but the plug was a little bit different, ever since getting this new plug the internet speeds have been a lot slower and when I try and play a game like MW2 or CSS it works for about 10 minutes then disconnects then reconnects again.

Is this yet another faulty plug do you think?

I bought it in December 2010.

Try different sockets if you can and connect adapters directly into mains (no extension leads etc).
