Hey guys,

so im using a Macmini that came installed with the latest OS. I spoke to my teacher in college about software and he said he can provide me with FCP, Motion, DVD studio pro and soundtrack pro with the schools licence.

Now when i tried installing FCP i was met with an error saying "powerpc applications are no longer supported". So i tried putting in soundtrack pro and that worked fine. Yet FCP still wont read, ive read online that this is to do with apple and their invisible translations programe and that users were able to get around this by using rosetta.

Now since Rosetta has been discontinued in the new mountain lion, how would i go about tackling this problem? The only other way i can see is to buy parallels and install snowlepord which will have rosetta. If so, can't i just use the trial period to do this rather than just buy it.

TL;DR
Final cut pro wont install on macmini, comes up with error "powerpc applications are no longer supported"
