Has anyone used the PowerPhotos software and had success with it?

I'm just about to migrate to a new MacBook Pro and figured it was time I sorted out my previous photo libraries. I need to merge a 'Photos' library with an 'iPhoto' one and in the process I want to remove all duplicate photos that may have been imported over time.

This software seems to do all of the above but I just wanted to see if anyone had used it before I spend £25 on it.

Yes, I've used it. I've about 500Gb of photos and videos etc. And it's been great being able to sort them out.

I have yearly packages now, and one big master. I.e. 2018 is the current one, but then one master library with everything previous in.

Sure there's better ways. Anyhow, PowerPhotos has been great in sorting it out. One piece of advice - make sure you're running the same version of Photos on each machine if you're running multiple machines. First time I used it I didn't check this, and it caused me some headaches. Obvious when you think about it.
