Powerpoint Default Slide

I'm running powerpoint 2007 and the first slide in the presentation is a basic outline slide that I want to be able to add, whenever I click 'New Slide', to the end of my current list of slides. When I click new slide at the moment all it does it put a blank white slide in instead so I have to select the template slide, click duplicate, then drag it to the bottom of the page which is fairly annoying.
