Hi all. I'm looking to buy a new compact. It is to replace a Panasonic DMC-FX37. I've been looking at the Canon S120. Which looks great for the money (£280). Looking at reviews I can see that the Sony RX100M2 is better.. but it's much more expensive. Is the original RX100 worth considering?
Is there anything else I've missed that's a similar form factor / size?

I'd rather buy it before going on holiday in the next two weeks - even if the G7 X was out by then, I doubt it'd be in the same price bracket. Shame as it looks awesome.

The LF1 looks interesting, my only concern with looking at the specs is the lens isn't very wide but I'll certainly read some more indepth reviews and comparisons. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies, in the end I went for the S120. We also took the FX37 with us, made me glad about buying the S120. A factor in getting the S120 was the size. The Sony was just a bit too clunky, tbh, I wanted something the exact same size as the FX37 and the S120 is actually a tad bigger.

Once I've gone through the photos, I'll post some. There are a few of the sunset from the Empire State Building and skyline shots from the Brooklyn Bridge where I was playing with the camera out of Auto and think they came out well. It's been a long time since I've posted any photos in this forum. :(
