Hey,
Got myself an ATi Radeon 3870XT over the weekend. Now, sometimes when I go to run a 3D game the computer resets itself. It did it just before when I tried to load Cellfactor. Double clicked it and the screen went black, then popped up the BIOS screen. Yet I tried again and all was fine for half an hour. I'll do some more gaming tomorrow, see if it happens again.

The powersupply is an Antec Truepower Trio 550W with three 18amp 12V+
All was well until I replaced my 8600GT and put on a fresh windows install.

Thanks for any replies,
Chris.

DOes it only do it when using 3D games? I would try 3dMark and see what happens... I doubt its your power supply as your GPU would let you know

Cheers for the reply.
3DMark hangs at the point at the start where it detects the hardware, i'll try redownloading + installing it. Before when I put a CD in my DVD Drive, it reset again as it was about to spin up.

Thoughts?

Have you turned off automatic restarting in System Properties->Advanced->Startup and Recovery->Settings etc.?

I have this problem too but I've got the same system setup I've had for ages. The thing with mine is I can leave my PC on all day and it'll be fine, but then if I start to use it, it'll restart. If I then continue to use it one it's restarted, sometimes it'll be fine for half hour, other times it'll just reboot instantly
