Just got my new system up and running and really excited my getting my HTPC setup running fast and smooth with the new CPU but have hit a major problem.
I run Media Center using my Sony 40w4500 as a second monitor. To get totally smooth playback I change the monitor's refresh on my Geforce 8800GT to match the framerate of the material - 1920x1080p at 24hz for films and US TV, 50HZ for UK TV stuff and 60HZ for occasional US video material.
Now, these outputs have been working fine with same GPU and HDTV for years under Vista 32-bit drivers. However, with the new Windows 7 64-bit setup, every time I set the refresh rate to 24hz it says it accepts it but when I click apply it jumps down to 23 hz. The same happens when I set to 60hz - says it accepts it but then just jumps down to 59! Now on 59 it's fairly OK but 23 is no good at all - very unstable playback.
I have tried various 64-bit drivers back to 181.71 - all have same problem. I need to know if this could be a Windows 7 problem or a 64-bit problem and if anyone has any advice - especially about getting it to output 1080p/24hz.
Thanks for any suggestions.
