I installed a 2008 foundation server and have been trying to get PPTP working,
PPTP is something that in the past has just worked for me, open 1723 on the router and maybe stick in for good luck 4500 and 500.. all routers have supported gre 47 in the past (it just seems to be something that works)
however what ever I do the client reports "..unable to connect.. common reaseon gre 47 not configured..." a generic message nothing useful..
the firewall / router reports my 1723 connection as "accepted",
the 2008 foundation server knows I am trying to connect and logs "...timed out... "common reason gre 47 not configured..."
I DISABLED the firewall on the 2008 server which did not help, I was using a BT2 wire router but changed it to a zyxel 660h but the error still happens..
any gotchas? things I might be missing, things to try... im not new to PPTP however it always jsut works (well in the past) - not done on 2008 before
