I really like the last photo, really pops out at me. The stance of the biker and the background just work so well together. The kick of the mud also adds to the impact, nice one!

Yeah I really like the last one as well, nicely composed and just enough motion blur in the wheels; the 3rd one is pretty good as well.

Thanks for the comments.

That's quite an interesting comment, if you check out the MX mags you'd see most of them shooting at far higher shutter speeds. I'm not really sure you need it anyway

definately the last one for me, gives a real sence of speed, not only with the motion blur from the wheels but the spray of dirt from the back wheel. great stuff.

Lovely shots dod.

I like 2 with the framing and expression and 5, with 5 being the best imo. The only criticism I have of those (well, there has to be one doesn't there :p ), is that the highlights on the helmets are blown in a few places :p

Excellent stuff :)

I really like #3 but i think it's cropped slightly too close to the back wheel. They're all brilliant though, can't really fault them! The last one is probably the strongest.

If i would say one thing it's that there's not a massive variety in the shots. Maybe show some with a few bikes in (instead of tightly in on one), or wider shots to show the track. I dunno if you've taken those sort of shots and just not posted them though. :)

I've never shot bikes before, only cars so I'm not too sure what most people would consider a good bike photo, although the Irish Super bikes are on in April which I'm planning on heading down to. I like a bit of motion blur in tyres as it adds to the sense of speed and motion.

i,ve noticed with the shots you have posted before dod, you always seem to catch the intensity in the riders eyes, 2 & 4 are prime examples this time :D .there is a local track near me, Red lodge just off the A11 in Suffolk &, as soon as my 70 - 200 2.8 Larrives this week from Kerso then i shall be drawing inspiration from your great shots ;)

Out of interest dod, what lens/kit do you use? The pics are really crisp!
Varies, 20D or 1D MkII, lenses can be 17-40 F4, Canon 28-105 F3.5-4.5 or the sigma 70-200mm F2.8.

As it happens I think all of these are the 1D and 70-200.
