Id just like to say Thankyou to all the Staff @ OCUK, Having placed my order on the website for my new PC late Wednesday night, I now have it sitting here built and purring away with windows installed ready to go.

Great service, Super fast delivery, Quality goods, BIG Thumbs up here :) ]

Thanks guys.

my last saturday delivery chitty link lost my 2 parcel it was only my antec 900 gaming case i had all the other bits just no tower to put it in.

but overclockers refunded my saturday delivery cost and my case turned up on tuesday it was.
apart from that they have always delivered on time and always been a good service.

Well yeah... you're not going to have AOL paying for an advert thats says 'we're comlete *****' are you? :p

And there's the vocal minority thing, most people are perfectly happy with the service but the few that aren't are more likely to complain.

I'd say because its an unfair representation of the service, showing only the good but not the bad, but i can understand why, people are good at giving praise but OTT when it comes to complaints.

I've had one little niggle with OCuk, but its nothing bad enough to turn my business away, if it were i wouldnt be here now.

As with anything though what makes it harder for businesses to provide a decent customer service is the lack of honesty and blatant lies people come out with when it comes to problems, so as said, i can appreciate the reasons.

So if you don't like OcUK, why do you use these forums.
Sorry? what makes you even think that? I've spent over £6,000 over the years with OcUK, might not be much to some but I'm a good customer.

All I'm saying is I wish their was a balance of opinions instead of all the one sided storys. :)

Dont get me wrong, I can understand from the business point of view besides OcUK pay for these forums which is probally one of the best forums for advice etc. When we sign up to these forums we are also agreeing to the terms of use including anything to tarnish the reputation of OcUK is not tolerated etc, I'm one for all for adhering to rules as they say "rules are rules".

People DO go over the top when it comes to anything bad like you mentioned & this is probally why, it depends how you go about these things in a civilised manner, their is such thing as "positive criticism" in which can benefit in terms of improving anything that can be improved.

If criticism is not positive then there is no point in opening your mouth in the first place if you do not have a suggestion on how to improve things.

I never had a problem in the many years I ordered from OcUK, when I did they always sorted me out given the chance.

And thats the Irony of the situation, what people class as positive as well as negative is a matter of opinion, thus everyone is basically gagged i.e rules. :)

I think my first order was back in 2001, Abit KR7A-Raid, I have to agree with you I've never had a problem either in this time, only minor niggles that were resolved with a phone call but people do have problems & no one can share them here, posts are deleted like the one yesterday titled "Disapointed" by another forum member.

Now your going to say why did I bring this up in the first place, well all I'll say is everyone should be entitled to their opinion.

Eh?

Personally I don't have too much of a problem with OCUK itself, only the odd niggle here or there. But I do have a problem with City Link, had more bad experiences than good, from lying that they actually knocked at my door to delivering goods to the wrong house (on numerous occasions that one).

Never had any problems with other couriers, just City Link.

Positive criticism? Do you perchance mean constructive criticism? Seen plenty of that deleted too tbh. :)

City Link on a whole are fairly good actually, although at my old address they were the only courier to ever give me any slight problems I will admit.

Certainly worse about than them if you take a county wide shot of the deliveries.

If you have a problem with OcUK just phone them up and it will get sorted given time.

Written on the forum it is useless, would not get to anyone who could do anything about it, you need to contact OcUK directly for it to make a difference.

That is my point.

I learned the pros and cons of these forums long ago and to be honest it's not worth getting involved in threads like this, you can't win and you may lose your account. The internets a huge place with plenty more forums where you can say what you want. I've spent thousands over the years at OcUK (not so much now though) and if i can only comment on the good then i won't comment on anything at all, Seems the fairest solution :)

I love these threads, brings out the best people. :)

Shop talk is allowed within the rules providing it is not a question that can only be answered by the shop, such as an order question.

Never been a rule saying no shop talk.

Haha! mine used to knock & be gone within 2 seconds, recently one of my friends works for Citylink in another Town but does my Town if that makes sense, never had a failed delivery yet in the last year or so!!! :) :) :) It's down to each individual, some people care about their jobs more than others. All the main curiers are decent, depends who the driver is in my opinion, dont blame the courier itself! :)

Hey - where did my post go? All I did was quote someone saying no shop talk was allowed and I replied "only if it's good, naturally". Why does that warrant the post vanishing?

Haha, I've heard the delivery service is good, but living literally a 30 second walk I've always gone there and experienced the huge queues :P It's still good service in there though :D

It went to the place where posts go to when the post fairies leave 50p under your pillow. :)

Yeah, they say they stuck a card through the door and there's no card to be found! If, like you say it boils down to the individual driver then the finger surely points at the employer.

When I'm expecting a delivery from City Link I camp at my door! :)
