I'm looking to upgrade the HD5770 in my current (fairly old) system.

I'll be playing 'Guild Wars 2' and 'Mechwarrior Online' as well as 'Far Cry 3'.

I'm not bothered about maxxing FPS or overclocking etc. - I just want a decent quiet GPU.

I may upgrade my Monitor to a bigger one as well as the MBoard/CPU in a few months - but nothing too high-end. We're talking mid-range basically.

I appreciate that the GTX660 is going to reset a lot of expectations, but at the moment the current offers on the 7950 seem attractive.

I can afford a GTX670, but I'd rather pay less (possibly on other upgrades). I'm also concerned a 670 would be wasted on my current system as well as my potential use re. games and upgrade ambitions

So my questions:

1) Would a 670 (or a 660!) be wasted on my current build?

2) Ditto re a 7950? (and would it be that quiet?).

3) What would you currently recommend at about £200 (or less if appropriate) for a quiet GPU?

This is my current build:

CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 955
GPU - Radeon HD5770
RAM - 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 2678MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard - Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-MA785GT-UD3H (Socket M2)
Monitor - Acer X223W (1680x1050@60Hz)
PSU - OCZ StealthXStream 700W

Any comments gratefully received...

similar to what i was just looking at
the windforce is the quiet 670, but its not cheap or a small card

i guess if you cool with going ati there's some options tho ur budget is right on 660's i think

in few months time picture of gpu prices in mid-range might be a lot different,i hope that might even possible to snap hd7870 for 200£,some are going now for 220£.if gtx660 do what gtx670 did, then it might work.
hd sapphire 7850 or gigabyte are really good cards for 180£,they have good cooling solutions.OC is easer then ever so think about it,with mild oc you can get easy 5%up increase in performance.
