I have the following parts and am ready to build, any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have not built a rig for nearly 18 months..........I cannot believe how excited I am:D like a kid in a candy shop.

C2D E6850
OCZ 4GB (4x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Arctic Silver 5
Radeon X800GT (Changing very soon)
Akasa 8-Pin 30cm PSU Extension Cable
Corsair VX 450W ATX PSU
Coolermaster CM-690 Dominator
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Samsung 245B
An older NEC DVD+-RW and Philips DVDR 1660

I'd really like to put Vista Home Premium 64 bit on this machine and again would like any advice from peoples previous builds.

BTW I have to say that the CM 690 is fantastic for the money, cases have really improved.

plan what your doing.

take your time

and vista 64bit has a problem with accepting 4GB of ram until its patched, so just install 2GB and then patch it. this stung me for quite a bit. see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929777

also if its not going to plan, don't though bits of hardware across the room in frustration, it can get exspensive

No worries, I'll be methodical.

Although I've not tinkered for a long while I have done the lot in the past, water cooling, phase change ................ and yes, I have thrown stuff but then I suspect we all have;)

Its really if there are any things to look out for with this mix of kit that I'm interested in.

Having looked arount the net a bit, I think Vista 32bit may be more sensible for me.
