Hello, in the next few weeks i'm planning on building a new LGA2011 machine. Primarily being used for gaming.

So far I am thinking on purchasing these items :

Ram £95 -

SSD £100 -

Motherboard £275 -

Processor £240 -

Case £280 -

Windows 7 ultimate £60 -

Graphics card -
(SLI) £650 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-000-KF&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2294
(Single) £330 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-000-KF&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2294

I also need to choose a screen, any advice would be appreciated. It needs to be around £150, £200 at a stretch. I do plan to buy other monitors later down the line though. So I would like them to be all of the same model.

Overall i'm expecting to spend around £1500, less would be better of course. My questions are as follows :
1) Shall I stick with LGA2011, is it worth it?
2) Should I buy the Cosmos II, for the price would there be another case which would maybe suit me better. I know the Cosmos is very large and has great potential. But as of now, I have no intention on using water cooling.
3) Graphics cards have been giving me a headache, as i'm unsure which to buy. I have read that unless you go to 3X SLI, then there is no point in buying the 4gb VRAM cards. But I am unsure. I was thinking of buying a single 670 and then later down the line either go into SLI or purchase a newer model of card.
4) Cooling is another thing I am really unsure about, so any help in that respect would be useful. (I'll read around on the forum if not).

Other than that I am just in need of an observers opinion, if you could give me any other alternatives I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance ~

Hi and welcome to the forum.

First thing, remove the link for the fan. It`s against forum rules to post links to competitors. Just a friendly heads up before a Mod sees it.

If this is primarily for gaming, then an IB i3570k will be good enough and cheaper.

1. the 2011 is the new intel chip socket but really unless your going to buy the 3960x and overclock it there is no point as the 3770k benchmarks higher than the 3820 its up to you which on you get, the 3770k benchmarks better but the 2011 socket is probably going to be intels new socket.
2. if you have no intention of watercooling then your case will suffice and it willl be big enough so there is no real need to upgrade unless you want to
3. if your looking to keep costs down 1 670 will do for now then you can upgrade later or buy another, or you can buy 2 670s and that will get you amazing fps on games but one will already do the job tbh
4. any cooler will suffice unless you are overclocking otherwise something like this should do the job http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-039-AR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

Thanks for the heads up idle. Being a long time stalker, I probably should have picked up on that, still thanks though. I'll read through the rest of this some time in the morning, thanks for the help.
