Friend is looking to buy a new desktop capable of decent gaming. Budget is around £800 I think.

He doesn't really know computers so would like to go the pre-built route. Any advice on which brand to go for since it's someone who wouldn't be able to fix basic issues on his own? I'm unsure about recommending OCuK's pre-builts just because I have no idea what the warranty is like. Would need something who can fix/repair any issues quite easily.

I've always been wary of Dell and not a big fan, but the laptop from work I have at the moment has been pretty good. Have their desktops improved? Any other brands to look at?

Thanks!

Can't reccomend anyone except OcUK on these boards. Sorry :)

Err, good point. forgot about that.

Ok, in that case - spec me a pre-built computer for around that much :) What kind of specs should I be looking at for that price from a pre-built computer? Please do link to OCuK for examples.

There's a sticky at the top of the "full systems and bundles" sub forum that should be useful. What you need the PC to do is important. A budget gaming rig would have a hugely different spec to an office machine or a workstation.
