Hi All,

I'm comtemplating waiting until Black Friday and see if there's any worthy deals for pre-built 4090 builds such as Germanium. Or would it be cheaper, and have a better spec by messaging OCUK customer service to custom build.

My budget is around that mark of £3.5k, the base Germanium is currently £3699.95, but with an i7. I'd love to spec in an i9 ideally, but finding it a bit tedious to get all my components for that budget.

I'm only using the PC for gaming, but figured i'd future proof it with a fairly decent spec.

Thanks all for the help.

FYI: Getting an i9 for future proofing games doesn't appear to work. E.g. the i9-10900K is slower than a 5600/i5-12400 in TPU's gaming charts here. The reason why, is that most games don't/can't compensate for slower cores by using more cores, so only the cache helps the i9 be faster than other competitive CPUs of the same generation (and not enough to save it versus newer CPUs, I'm afraid).

If it helps, I copied the spec as best I could, but some components (brand/model) aren't mentioned (e.g. SSDs, PSU and AIO):

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £3,360.79 (includes delivery: £11.98)

The last I saw posted, OCUK charge £150 + 4% of the build, so my assumption is that this would be around £300.
