Morning all.

I’m new to PC gaming. Over the years I’ve played football manager on the laptop and that’s about it.

I’m now wanting to get into higher graphical need games such as manor lords/civ 7.

I’ve got a budget of around £1K for a PC. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Thank you for the advice and recommendation.

Bit of a minefield trying to work this out from my point of ignorance!

There are lots of options so you have to juggle parts to get the best performance.

The above build is AM4 but still good for the Money but there is AM5 which is newer but you may have to compromise on GPU performance.

Newer build with faster CPU , 4060 and 16gb of memory.

Compare

Would the drop in memory from 32GB to 16GB have a significant effect on performance?

If I was buying a gaming PC today I would definitely try to avoid having 16GB, but most games do still work fine. It is relatively cheap and easy to upgrade DDR4 from 16GB to 32GB, if necessary.

If you could stretch to £1,075.00, there is a company offering a pre built gamin PC with 4070 Super / i5 13400F / 16gb DDR5 build that looks very good value. It's not from Overclockers so assume I am not allowed to share the link?
