Pre built uprgade or new build step up

I have a couple of options here on an upgrade from my current build ,
which is Rog strix gd30 [which i would sell on ] i5 7400 ,1070,16g ram
My screen is the Rog 27 144hz [ill be keeping the monitor]

So I have a friend who is selling his setup [Ryzen 7 1700x,16gb 3000 memory ,1080 g1 gaming ]

Or i could go with a new build [Which i have a budget of roughly £1500 ] and if possible a help with a good uprgrade please .

Last option would be to sit on what i have at the moment .

That's still top notch today. If you need more CPU cores you could get an i7-7700 for under £300, and a RTX 2080 Ti for the GPU. Which motherboard is inside your PC? If you have a Z-series you could get a 7700K, a decent cooler, and overclock.

Ah ok ,never thought of trying that ,the motherboard is a
Strix H270F Gaming Intel H270 (Socket 1151) DDR4 Motherboard
But being honest ive been away quite a while now from building/upgrading
