Afternoon all,

I've been asked to put together a Windows 10 home office system for my parents, so I was wondering if you good folk might be able to have a look and see if all of this will work together, and be a serviceable and quiet home office machine for 5-7 years (they tend to keep their PCs for a long time).

They'll be reusing the same keyboard and mouse from before, and already have Windows 10 purchased.

Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

You will need a graphics card.

Not clued up on AMD computers but it looks ok to me (once you add a GPU).

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to give a better judgement.

Thank you for this. Is a GPU needed for a home office machine? The most graphic-intense thing it'll see is BBC and a spot of YouTube.

I figured the internal mobo graphics would cover it, but I know nil about these things.

yes the athlon as no iGPU
what office work will the system be used for, i lot of day to day office work will not need quad core cpu

Thank you both for this - I misunderstood the mobo blurb on integrated graphics...thank you VERY much for pointing that out as that would be pretty crap!

It will simply be used for Word, Excel (basic tasks) and browsing the internet.
