Can anyone with a pre facelift (<2004) model S2000 do me a favour and take a pic for me? :)

I need to see what's behind the rear tow eye cover so if anyone can pop theirs off and do me a pic of what's through the hole I would be most grateful.

Someone must have reversed into me when I was parked up in town the other day as my cover went missing. Annoying but not a big problem, got another one from Honda today.

Went to just clip it back on and it doesn't seem to sit right due to the fact there's a metal cylinder thing poking out quite far. It looks like the bit that you screw into the body work, that you then screw the actual tow eye into, with a hex bolt pattern on the end.

I've got a fresh shiny one of those bits in the boot with all the jack and stuff, and it does look very similar so was just wondering if someone's stuck one in at some point and just left it there or if it's supposed to be like that and the fit just isn't great :)

Hopefully that makes sense :p

Weird thing is I have all the tool kit parts in the boot, including the extension, but the bit I'm seeing does look exactly the same!

Also looks like it's been there a long while, properly stuck on and rusty (the one in my toolkit looks brand new like the rest of the tools), will have to get the garage to try and get it off when it goes in for a service in a couple of weeks.

I did have a look at the bumper and can't see that it's moved at all, nothing looks out of place or misaligned.

Do have an annoying little mark though above the number plate, looks like it was a tow bar that just tapped it, grr.

The extension isn't sticking out as such, the cover does go on, but doesn't feel like it clips properly as it hits the extension.

Don't think I've got any way of unbolting it myself though, too tight and worried I might break something trying :p

Just remembered a weird Christmas present I got from a family member of a 2 foot extendable breaker bar thing you use for wheel nuts.

Had 4 sizes of socket, one of which was 19mm which is what the extension uses.

That + WD40 and it popped off easily so all sorted now :)

Bit weird how I've got 2 extensions though.

Yeah weird, least I won't be worrying too much now about the cover falling off again if/whenever the bumper gets any pressure put on it at all.

hah well I may have made use of some extra help (mainly cable tie around the teather bit of the cover) if it dislodges itself it won't be going anywhere, at worse it'll hang there a bit :)

Let me know if you need anything further, I'm not around Saturday but can take pics of my '99 if needed.
