today those with the game on pre-order can pre-load 99% of the game ready for the 5th of sept release!!!!

Thank you for your recent pre-order purchase of Spore from EA Store.

As you are probably aware, Spore is due to be released at 00.00 GMT on the 5th September.
However, we’ve just made it easier for you to get in the game faster by making Spore available to pre-load from the 28th August!

What does this mean?

At 18.00 GMT 28th August, you will see Spore in your EA Download Manager. At this point you will be able to download 99% of the game to your computer, with the remaining part of the game to be downloaded upon release a week later. At the time of release on the 5th September – it should then only take around 30 minutes for you to complete the install, and begin conquering galaxies in Spore before anyone else!
with the 50% discount voucher i had from Mass Effect it only cost

Total: £18.99
Discount Total: £23.99

Going the box route for this game. Downloaded Mass Effect from the EA store, didn't back it up. Reinstalled OS and ME won't run due to registry settings missing I guess, and I can't redownload it as it's no longer on my downloader - which sucks.

I bought, downloaded and installed BF2142 through EA Link (now EA downloader), I've re-installed it a few times too, and it's been fine. If anything, I found that it downloaded faster than STEAM games do.

You must have a damn nice connection then - Steam maxes out my 22.5 mbit o2 connection consistently.

Might give this a go. My gaming rig needs some loving....EA can kiss my *** if they think I'm going to pre-load it from them though, will wait for the retail release.

all the popular delivery sites are promising delivery in time for release day so i've ordered a boxed copy. i like to have stuff in my hands rather than virtual so to speak.

Crackers will manage to get 100% of it and release it before people who have paid for it can actually play it, I bet my life on it.

I was going to download from EA untill i saw what a rippoff price they are charging, needless to say I'll be getting it £10 cheaper from a well know online store.
